Site blog and manual guide for developers added

a11y4developers.uic.edu development resumes

After a brief pause since its soft launch in late 2024, development of instructional material for a11y4developers.uic.edu has resumed. For those unfamiliar, this self-guided public training site is designed to help web developers learn WCAG  fundamentals and absorb not just the what aspects of accessibility but the why. New content will be periodically added, updated, and corrected by staff members of Software Development and Delivery (SDD), a subunit of UIC Technology Solutions. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for corrections, feel free to reach out.

Under the “How to test” section in the main navigation menu of this site, you will now find a new resource: Manual Accessibility Testing: Developer’s Overview, which should help demystify the manual testing process by detailing what to look for. Please note the high-level nature of this guide, which focuses on issue detection and does not delve too deeply into issue remediation. It should be easy to follow…at least that’s the intention.

Again, feel free to contact us with any questions. That is all.
